What it is
The Safari by Coastal Comfort Grip Curry Brush for Dogs is a rubber curry brush sold under Coastal Pet Products' Safari grooming line. Coastal's official product page says to use it on a dry coat to remove loose hair and dirt, or at bath time to massage shampoo into the coat. The same page describes it as great for short hair, lists one size (5 in long by 3 in wide), and says it gives the skin a massage and adds sheen to the coat. Treat those statements as manufacturer wording checked against the live official Coastal page on 2026-09-25 ET, not as independent lab or veterinary results. This page covers only this Comfort Grip curry brush, not Safari slicker brushes, combs, shedding blades, or the Safari Self-Cleaning Shed Magic tool.
Why it matters for a light-coat Lab puppy
English Labs carry a short double coat that sheds, and Theo's Tampa Bay routine adds sand, pool water, and frequent rinses. The directory's deshed-tools job is to remove loose hair from a short Lab coat without scratching skin or cutting guard hairs, and to favor flexible rubber tools over copying a long-coat routine. A rubber curry fits that job. This one gives a second maker and a smaller hand-sized option beside the KONG ZoomGroom, which KONG describes as a flexible rubber grooming and shampooing tool. Keep early sessions short and positive, brush in the direction the coat grows, and use it dry for loose hair or in the bath to work in a dog-safe shampoo.
Not this
This is not a clipper, a blade, an undercoat rake, or a reason to shave a Labrador. It is not a slicker brush, and it is not a substitute for checking skin after Florida water days. Stop if the skin looks red or irritated, and ask a veterinarian about any hot spot, rash, or sudden heavy shedding instead of brushing harder. This listing is only the Safari by Coastal Comfort Grip Curry Brush for Dogs at https://www.coastalpet.com/safari-by-coastal-comfort-grip-curry-brush-for-dogs/. Do not treat retailer variants, cat versions, multipacks, referral links, or tracking URLs as this product. KONG ZoomGroom remains a separate directory seed for the same gear type; this page is an official alternate, not a ranking or a claim that one curry fits every Lab.
