What it is
The Kuranda Ballistic Dog Crate Pad is a padded mat for the floor of a dog crate. Kuranda's official product page says it is made with abrasion-resistant ballistic nylon over a thick layer of padding, and that ties sewn at each corner secure it to a crate or to a Kuranda Slimline bed. The page says its smooth finish keeps dog hair from embedding in the fabric. Kuranda says to pick the pad size from the internal dimensions of your crate. Treat those statements as the maker's own wording, checked against the live official Kuranda page on 2026-09-27 ET, not as independent test results.
Why it matters for a light-coat Lab puppy
The directory's crate-pad job is a correctly sized, washable base that stays put, with chewing monitored. The corner ties are the main difference from a loose mat: tied down, the pad is harder for a puppy to bunch up, drag, or push into a corner. White Lab hair shows on dark fabric and works into fuzzy fabric, so a smooth surface that wipes off is practical during shedding. Kuranda's care directions are to wipe it with warm water, or hand wash it with warm water and a mild detergent, then line dry without bleach. That is more work than a machine-washable mat, so it suits an owner who prefers quick wipe-downs between washes.
Not this
This pad is not chew proof. Kuranda's page says it carries a 30-day warranty against manufacturer defects and is not covered by the chew-proof warranty that applies to Kuranda's beds. Remove it if the puppy starts chewing the fabric, the ties, or the padding, and follow Snowy Pines' guidance on what goes in the crate. Kuranda's care directions cover wiping and hand washing only and do not mention machine washing. It is also not an elevated Kuranda crate bed. This listing covers only the Ballistic Dog Crate Pad at https://kuranda.com/dog-pads/ballistic-crate-pad/. It does not cover Kuranda beds, other Kuranda pads, retailer listings, referral links, or tracking URLs. MidWest QuietTime remains a separate directory seed for the same gear type. This page is an official alternate, not a ranking.
